Saoirse Ronan & Stuart Townsend land roles in Middle-Earth
According to an article in Monsters and Critics., Irish actress Saoirse Ronan and Irish “Lord of the Rings” drop out actor Stuart Townsend have been added to the cast of The Hobbit.
Saoirse Ronan, who had previously worked with Peter Jackson in ‘The Lovely Bones’, will be cast as Itaril, a woodland Elf while Stuart Townsend, the actor originally cast as Aragorn in ‘The Lord of the Rings’, but subsequently replaced by Viggo Mortensen, will play Bard the Bowman.

Seem’s a bit strange. I thought there was bad blood between Townsend and Jackson. Guess this is Peter’s way of making it up to him. Hope they don’t fire him the day before he’s about to start shooting his scenes. He’ll be PISSED!

It had better be an April Fools joke. If it’s not, I’m glad to hear of someone to play Bard, but way less than happy about the silly OC, which unfortunately sounds just like what a ridiculously politically correct movie company would require. At least I hope they change her name if they decide to keep her…
