I love the sunset in the background… the colors were amazing!
I loved that entire scene. The Havens were straight out a John Howe picture… it was gorgeous!!
This scene was very hard for me. I almost couldn’t control myself. When Frodo turned to Sam, well that was it.
I really lost it.
Me too, I was sobbing through all the credits because of that scene…
Ah! I feel tears coming on again! no…
It is just so sad when you think of them going away to never return.
…and then Frodo turns back and smiles- I was heartbroken!
This was my favorite part! Or at least one of them! “It’s time Frodo.” *sob*
How can it be Cirdan!!!! He has no beard, I looked!!!!

Firniswin, Cirdan didn’t have a beard in FOTR, either.
I guess since Boromir and Faramir are both blonds, they’ve changed Cirdan as well. Oh, well.
The Grey Havens are so beautiful. I would like to move there. 🙂 But PJ made it seem like…
Celeborn is a ringbearer too. You can’t really tell that Elrond is wearing Vilya either. I really had to look.
The Harbor was incredibly pretty, though. I wanted to be there.
i don’t think that Celenborn was ever a ringbearer. He’d be sailing b/c he ‘s an elf.
Nenya: Galadriel, Narya: Gandalf, and Vilya:Elrond.
he’s supposed to stay behind in Lórien though, I think
He stays behind and helps Mirkwood become beautiful again
In the movie, it looks like he sails, but in the movie they say it’s the last ship to leave Middle_earth.
Celeborn sails later, not with the ringbearers. Sam, Legolas and Gimli (according to legend) also sail later.
(According to the movie) If this is the last ship & Leggy is not boarding it, does it mean he stays in ME?
I think Leggy already left…or atleast I hope he did. Maybe in the DVD it’ll give us some background.
I cried my heart out! I can’t bear the thought of all the Elves leaving ME forever!
Don’t know about the movie, but in the books, the legend goes that Legolas shows Gimli the elf world.
then Gimli does the reverse. When Legolas sails from ME, Gimli goes with him.
On earlier comment. I took it to mean that it was the last ship of the Third Age. Legolas, Gimli and Sam left
… in the Fourth Age.Tolkien didn’t say when Celeborn left ME.
They looked so beautiful! Why oh why must all elves leave ME?
I thought that the boat would be bigger. Oh yeah, this scene is beautiful
for some reason when I saw this scene I was happy instead of sad.

Elronds sleeves r huge. I love the costumes in LotR anyway. They are so elaborate. Thats why they got an Oscar
Cirdan did have a beard, it says in the Encyclopedia.
This scene was packed with emotions, and cried and laughed at the same time. It’s happy and sad to me.
